MediaNet is pleased to present eco doc, a program for filmmakers and environmentalists to meet and produce short documentary films about issues relating to the environment, global warming and sustainable development.

The program will take place over 4 weeks in September/October. Works produced through the program will be shown in a variety of ways. There will be a special public screening they may be shown on community television and over the internet.

This is a unique opportunity for filmmakers, videographers, environmentalists and activists to explore local sustainability issues and solutions under the mentorship of filmmakers. Participants will have the opportunity to view and discuss a variety of documentary styles and genres.

Participants will be individually assisted while exploring the technical, practical and artistic challenges involved in creating an environmental video in a supportive and collaborative community. Participants will have access to MediaNet's production and post production facilities during the program

Several MediaNet filmmakers will be giving practical workshops to help participants develop their projects. Local environmentalists will offer feedback and suggestions for contacting resources and exploring issues.

This is a hands on program and filmmakers and editors will be on hand to assist participants in the use of cameras, lights and editing. MediaNet technicians will be availble for support.
